I was reading an article on iVillage.com about how high heels can cause all kinds of problems, including foot pain, poor posture, etc. Basically, high heels promote an unnatural position for you achilles, calf muscles, the way you walk, the arch of your foot, and many other things. As if Fibromyalgia didn't cause enough problems, slipping on those pumps for work may add to all the other problems.

I have met very few women, very few, who actually like to wear high heels. It's all a part of the outfit, the so-called "dress code" for work, etc. I am not suggesting wearing some big ole shoe that is gross and ugly. In fact, I recently bought some very nice, very classy, and very stylish flats at Dillards that sure do the trick.
The iVillage article also goes on to say you need to quit wearing pantyhose too… so I guess it will soon be sweats, a t-shirt, and flip flops for work.
Anyway, smart foot decisions now can mean a bit less pain later.
