Some days we can get so self-focused as we try and cope with our diseases, aches, pains, and being tired. Here is a thought that helped me.
Henry David Thoreau wrote, "The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.” Though Thoreau was probably not a Christian, he recognized that life was valuable, and should be treated as such. Thoreau lived by this creed:
I wanted to live deliberately.
I wanted to live deep and to suck out all the marrow of life
To put to rout all that was not life
And not when I had come to die
Discover that I had not lived.
As another writer said, "I don't want to get to the end of my life and find that I just lived the length of it. I want to have lived the width of it as well."
Just a thought that may help you today!
