Bring On The Chocolate!

Fibromyaligia's wicked step sister is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.  A recent study done on people with CFS showed that eating chocolate is a good thing!

But, before you go out and buy a 1 pound bag of M&M's, here's a few things you need to know:

They used small amounts of chocolate

Dark chocolate with plenty of cocoa and polyphenol flavonoids was used

Basically, during the study of 8 weeks, participants used the good chocolate, but only 45 grams at a time.  Then they went off of it.  The main thing is that during the 8 weeks they were eating the chocolate, participants noticed much less fatigue and energy loss.

So, if you want to give a try… find some good, quality dark chocolate.  Don't buy any of that cheapo stuff.  See if the package says it is rich in polyphenol flavonoids.  Try and eat the same amount as the study… about 45 grams per day… give or take a bit.

Let us know how ya feel after a few weeks.  Heck… how long have I been waiting for the doctor to tell me to eat chocolate!

Bea Rockwell @ 3:44 pm:

It is GREAT to talk to somebody about FM!
I was wondering if anyone had any info on a form that is more prone to work on the internal organs more-so than the external pain(which I also have)?
I have chronic BAD ulcers that don't go away and I am on a strong regimen of medication for them that keeps them under control. Lately I have been experiencing several episodes of nausea a week. Not the real weakening sickly, pass-out type, but instant, no warning, projected vomitting. Quite embarrassing when I'm running a cash register and have to say excuse me and run in the middle of an order!! Anything that you take for nausea makes you sleepy and that won't work either! I want to try some Librax. It works on stomach spasms. I would like to let anyone who reads this know that I am praying for them.
Thanks for being there and please know that I am here also for whatever help I might be, Bea Rockwell (phillipsbeatrice@hotmail.com)

Angie @ 3:01 am:

Hi,
I am a 42 yr. old female and I recently found out that I have a very rare cancer…extremely rare for my age…vaginal cancer. I was diagnosed with Fibro 11 years ago in Sept. I had it within 1 week of my son's birth. I am getting ready to start chemo 7 radiation. I am wondering if there is anyone out there that can give me an idea of what my Fibro is going to be like. I am in so much pain now..but take pain meds because I can't have ibuprofen or NSaids. Any input will help.
Thanks..Angie in AZ.
